In the fields
For a few month ago I bought a new camera, an Aires Reflex TLR (middle format).
The man i bought it from had taken realy good care of the camera. Some of the controls are a little stiff, on the other side has the camera not been used for 15 years, and was made in the early 1950s.
Overall the camera is in very good condition, the shutter speed works fine and it’s really nice to work with.
I also gave the man a promise that i would use the camera and give it some love and care.
Now i finaly given me the time to trie it, and also developed the first roll Tri-X 400 film (120-mm film).
I am really pleased with this fine old camera and the pictures it creates.
In the reeds
The sun I can not see,
hiding behind that old pine tree.
The rays will soon catch up with me,
and the light l breath will set me free.
It´s a foggy day, landscape is faded in grey.
Floe floating around, with a clinking sound.
Nature blows a cold winter breeze.
We stand on the rocks looking out over the sea, trying not to freeze.
In the horizon, the sun is strugling to break free.
For a minute it opens upp, light is all we can see.
The spark burns out and it’s dark.
On my way to Paris Photo I passed the city Arvika in Värmland and handed in three of my photos from the project ‘Breathing in the silence’ in hope to be a part of the Christmas exhibition at the Arvika Arthall.
The jury for the exhibition was the Norwegian artist Geir Yttervik, and I was privileged to be one of those he chose for the exhibition and a part of the selection of Värmland contemporary art.
Arvika Arthall is a very beautiful place and perfect for art exhibitions, and a lot of people visited the vernissage (wich was held at saturday).
The exhibition is open untill the 30th of December 2016 (for opening hours visit the Arvika Konsthall website)
I really think it is a good exhibition and well worth a visit if you are nearby Arvika.
Me and Martin Parr
I am a big fan of Martin Parr and his wonderful expression in his pitures, wich combines a lovely mix of houmor and critisism in a way that is both very amusing and with a reflection of society and our behaviors.
When I visited Paris Photo 2016, I had the chance to meet several fantastic photographers and favorites I have, not least Martin Parr.
Last year i saw the great exhibition ‘Souvenir’ with Martin at Fotografiska museum in Stockholm.
At Paris Photo i also had the chance to meet the great Sebastião Salgado, Antoine d’Agata, Sarah Moon and JH Enström.
